What is DSi’s SaaS (Software as a Service)?

The Software as a Service (SaaS – also often referred to as “Cloud Computing”) model can deploy virtually any application to any Windows desktop, securely. Although it appears and feels to be running on the user’s desktop, the application actually streams from a secure server located at the DSi data center. Users can work with and treat the opened application(s) just as they would any other program window on their desktop. This includes being able to perform such tasks as: minimizing/maximizing/resizing the window, using multiple monitors, being able to hear audio from the program and even being able to print to their local printers… All the basic functions that any user performs with their applications; while served remotely and securely.

- Elimination of client/server software installs and/or maintenance – No more huge implementation plans, software install bugs & having to keep servers running clean and cool.
- View in native - Users can browse through data, that is hosted by DSi, as if it were hosted on their desktop. SaaS even allows the ability to open popular document types in their native format and program. For example, open a PDFs in Adobe Reader, view an Excel spreadsheet in Excel, etc.
- Shorter deployment times – completed in as short of a time-frame as a few minutes; opposed to a phased implementation which could take months of precious schedule time , as well as weeks of man-hours along with intermittent service interruptions.
- 24/7 Global availability – yes, the technology and products exist which can make the software of your company, available outside of the companies offices, but we’re talking about functionality that is available from anywhere on the internet, natively. Not just access from a specific location or device, by itself.
- Service Level Agreement (SLA) adherence – any reported bugs can be fixed. DSi is the one responsible for keeping the application updated and running smoothly, freeing you and your staff up for other tasks more focused on key aspects of your business.
