Week In Review: Enterprise Collaboration Requires New Skills, Conference Learnings

Welcome to the weekend. Here’s a look at some of this week’s highlights.

We started the week off taking a look at the values and skills for individuals, teams and management required for successful enterprise collaboration. And we looked at the some of the open source players in this area.

With conferences kicking into high gear, we spent some time at DrupalCon listening the sage insights of people like Clay Shirky and Jared Spool.

A Week in Google: Hate a Website? Block it

Internet Libel Claim Nets Big Bucks

Brenda Cambron Rogers, a 67-year-old rookie lawyer, won what she believes is a record judgment against a blogger for making “false and malicious statements” in internet blog postings. When the judge asked Rogers, “What do you want from this?” she answered, “I want to send a message that Georgia will not tolerate this kind of behavior.” Indeed, the message earned the plaintiff over $533,000.

Jolicloud Rebrands to Joli OS, Launches Version 1.2

The popularity of cloud operating systems soared since Google started developing Chrome OS. But cloud OSes have been around for years. Most have had clunky designs and slow interfaces, though. One stand-out has been Jolicloud (news, site), which has recently released version 1.2, and rebranded itself into Joli OS.
